PSHE stands for personal, social, health, and economic. It is often abbreviated to ‘PSHE’ but should really be referred to as ‘PSHE Education’ given that the ‘E’ in PSHE covers economic wellbeing and careers, vital elements of the subject that we shouldn’t ignore.
Whilst I have been facilitating PSHE education to children and young people since the late 1980s, frustratingly, most of PSHE Education only became legislated in September 2020 under the Children and Social Work Act.

The Act also introduced statutory guidance related to how primary and secondary schools deliver Relationships, Sex and Health Education (RSHE), bringing them more in line with independent schools that were already required to teach RSHE and PSHE education.
Additionally, OFSTED has been very clear that PSHE Education and RSHE will be heavily scrutinised during inspections due to the areas having a strong relationship to safeguarding.
At Kapasun we can facilitate a variety of PSHE Education sessions to pupils across all Key Stages including, but not exclusively: “Online Safety”, “Mental Health & Resilience” and “Bullying & Discrimination”.
We also specialise in RSHE, delivering lessons on: “healthy relationships”, “puberty and physical health”, “sexual relationships & sexual health (including ‘consent’ and ‘pornography’)”, “sex and the law” and “drugs and alcohol” to name just a few.
We can present similar PSHE Education and RSHE sessions to teachers, governors and parents, so they gain a better understanding of the issues and feel more able to support their children/pupils.
Finally, we can provide training to those who wish, or are required, to teach PSHE Education and/or RSHE to ensure they undertake their new responsibilities with confidence and competence.
All our PSHE Education and RSHE sessions, as is evidenced by our testimonials, utilises a variety of teaching formats: from videos, to discussions, small group activities, and a sprinkling of humour; all with the aim of fully engaging participants and making the experience as gratifying as the learning itself.
